Principales Obligaciones

JOB’S DESCRIPTION

For our offices in Barcelona and reporting to the Humanitarian Director, the selected person will be in charge of designing, supervising the Humanitarian strategies and projects within the geographical area attributed. 

Main functions:  

- To define and propose response strategies and the action plan for each humanitarian crisis within the geographical area attributed.

- To lead, manage and coordinate the operational aspect of the humanitarian response taking place in the region.

- To prepare projects and programmes narrative proposal and the decisions of the most adequate co-financer according to IO’s policies and strategies.

- To select, manage and develop the persons in his/her team in order to have a human team being engaged, motivated and adequately able to achieve the present and future goals. To coordinate the field personnel in the region.

- To control and carry out the follow up of the execution and the budget attributed to the humanitarian projects and programmes developed in the region.

-  To design and propose a response strategy for Oxfam International in the countries in which it is leader.

- To guarantee and implement Security Guides and ensure the security of the teams on the field.

- To take part and represent Intermón Oxfam in relevant Humanitarian Aid forums nationally and internationally.

- To act as a spoke person before the media to answer and give information about Intermon Oxfam’s action.

- To guarantee the coordination with all the Oxfams having some responsibility in humanitarian crises in his/her geographical area.

Requisitos

REQUIRED PROFILE

 -  University degree with special valuation of a complementary training in Humanitarian Aid.

- 3 years minimum experience in a similar job of coordination on the field and/or at headquarters, in humanitarian programmes management and teams’ coordination. Experience on the field as Emergency Coordinator or Mission’s manager.

- Knowledge and/or work experience in the regions of the action will be valued.

- Experience in person management and development.-  Context analysis experience and capacity and strategic vision of the area.

- Result orientated and capacity of work under pressure.

- Team work and collaboration.

-  Interaction and communication capacity as well as organisation and planning.

- Flexibility and adaptation capacity.

- Languages: fluent English, French and/or Spanish and/or Portuguese.

- Flexibility and availability to travel to the field.

- Motivation for international cooperation, development and the fight against poverty 

Condiciones Laborales

COMPENSATIONS

 - Contract from Intermón Oxfam.

-  Incorporation expected: as soon as possible.

-  Place of work: Barcelona.
